Boothbay is obviously a "tourist" destination and as a result too many of the places one encounters in such areas are tourist traps - They only need get money from you once, because even if you say a place stank and you'll never eat there again, the odds are you may never be back there again anyway... so they got your money, and that was all they wanted. To avoid that, my wife and I have a cardinal rule - Find out where the locals go, and go there. This is where the Boothbay locals go - Completely unpretentious, friendly, reasonably priced and well made food you eat at tables along side the "shack" that makes it all. (at the back of the guys yard) Can't recommend it enough.

Our family has been having fun family time here for generations. Love it!

This place is the best, better than any takeout in boothbay all the way to wiscasset. Very clean cant say that in any other takeout in boothbay also very good price

Great little place for hot dogs, burgers, fries and fried seafood. Picnic table seating, just keep an eye on your food. A seagull will swoop in and steal your food if you're not careful

The perfect “dog shack” seafood sandwiches bbq sandwich’s hot dogs with all the fixings and more. You can even sit at a picnic table and enjoy the view.

Drove all the way from New Gloucester to try out the Dunton Dugout and it was awesome. Very friendly owner and his food was delicious. Had the scallops and whole belly fried clams and some onion rings. Even the coleslaw was noteworthy. Will be back

Where the locals eat so you know it's good! Not a huge selection. Has both seafood and non seafood options as well as a few vegetarian options! Drinks are via vending machine. Bring cash

This little hut is a crowd pleaser. We love the scene and the food. We also love watching the seagulls snatch food from unsuspecting tourists. Too funny.

Always fun to stop by and grab some grub. Great little burger place!

Fantastic food!

The BEST lobster roll with crispy toasted bun and generous amount of super chilled lobster. Of course great hotdog, as good as can get. Also the Kelbasa sandwich is delicious, had two in one sitting!

Was a lifesaver today. Best hot dogs around. Can't wait to go back when we are better prepared.

Convenience if u dont feel like cooking. Where many of the locals eat.

Inexpensive, and good. Nice spot for a quick lunch outside or take it to go. I personally like the shrimp basket which is well priced or the double cheese burger with curly fries. Not a healthy option but if you're looking for a good greasy burger then this is the spot!

Love this place! Service is quick. Food is hot and delicious! Very friendly place! My favorite so far is the haddock basket. My husband had a great bacon cheeseburger and onion rings during our last visit. I'm trying the chili dog and curly fries this week. Can't wait!

Small, affordable, fast, cash only (but ATM up the street), easy parking, great selection, and incredibly friendly. We were looking for a cheap meal at the end of our day and found a great selection that made everybody happy.

Dunton's has been a go to lunch place for nearly 50 years. Best double cheeseburger around. Can't go wrong.
